Kira Soltanovich (Ms. Russia)

Stand-up comic, actress and writer, Kira Soltanovich was born in L'vov, Ukraine. Don't worry, most people have never heard of it either. Her parents emigrated from the former Soviet Union to The United States so Kira could make something of herself, but alas, she became a stand -up comic. She grew up in multi-cultural San Francisco, surrounded by immigrants of all shapes and sizes. There she attended the School of the Arts High School...just like "FAME", but with fewer white people. Kira graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Dramatic Arts. Soon after graduation, the move to Los Angeles was inevitable, because Hollywood needed one more struggling comic.

Kira is a mainstay on the Los Angeles comedy scene. Her stand-up is high energy, physical and tremendously sharp causing an ABC -TV to name her "one of the hottest new comedy writers." She is currently a regular at the Los Angeles Comedy Store and the Hollywood Improv. When not entertaining locally, you can find Kira on the road performing in clubs and colleges all across America. She recently completed a USO Comedy Tour where she entertained the American troops in Japan and the Middle East. In 2003, she was a semi-finalist in Comedy Central's Laugh Riots. In 2004, she was the runner up in California's Funniest Female Comedy Competition, and the winner in the Los Angeles Survival Of The Funniest Contest.

Kira is currently a series regular for her second season on the hit comedy, "Girls Behaving Badly", an all-female hidden camera show on the Oxygen Network. She is also writing and rehearsing for a new sketch pilot that is slated for HBO the 2005 season. Kira has also made appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the hit sitcom 3rd Rock From the Sun.
